The Maxxis Assegai 27.5x2.50WT 3C MaxxTerra EXO Tubeless Ready mountain bike tire is designed for trail and enduro riding, requiring high and predictable grip across the entire tread. Developed as Greg Minnaar's signature tire, the Assegai maintains consistent contact with the ground as the bike transitions from the center tread to the side knobs.

This version combines the 3C MaxxTerra compound with a supple 60 TPI casing and EXO sidewall protection. It provides a versatile setup for technical trails, with a balance of traction, rolling resistance, and tread durability.

Its 2.50-inch Wide Trail format is optimized for modern rims with a 35mm internal width. Tubeless Ready compatibility allows for tubeless use with compatible rim tape, valve, and sealant.

3C MaxxTerra Compound

EXO Protection

EXO protection relies on a dense, flexible, and cut- and abrasion-resistant fabric added to the sidewalls. It is suitable for rocky terrain where the tire walls are exposed to contact with stones and obstacles.

The 60 threads per inch carcass prioritizes robustness and is suitable for regular use in Trail and Enduro.

Recommended use

This model is recommended for the front of Trail and Enduro bikes in all conditions. It can also be mounted on the rear for consistent grip, although this will result in lower rolling efficiency compared to a faster-rolling rear tire.
