For the endurance rider who wants a helping hand on the cols without changing the way they ride, or for anyone riding with faster friends who wants to keep up without wearing themselves out. It is also a good choice for getting back on a road bike after a long break.
OCLV carbon, Trek's signature. The Gen 5 Domane+ SL 6 AXS is built around an OCLV Series 500 frame: Trek layers the carbon plies and then compacts them under heat to obtain a dense, void-free structure, able to house the TQ motor and its battery. Mudguard mounts, integrated frame bag mounts and a UDH hanger complete this frame, covered by Trek's lifetime warranty.

In short: the SL 6 AXS is the entry point to the new-generation Domane+ SL. It keeps the frame and TQ HPR40 motor of the SL 7 and SL 9, with alloy wheels, an aluminium handlebar and a 13-speed SRAM Rival XPLR AXS drivetrain.
With 40 Nm of torque and 200 W peak, the HPR40 doesn't try to push hard: it complements your pedalling. On the climbs of the Minervois or into the tramontane on the plain roads, it smooths out the sections where you would go into the red, while on the flat the bike keeps the feel of a classic Domane. Assistance stops at 25 km/h, the legal limit for e-bikes.
The Rival XPLR AXS drivetrain pairs a single chainring with a 13-speed 10-46 cassette: less fiddling, tight steps between sprockets and no front derailleur to adjust. The Bontrager Comp Riser handlebar rises by 20 mm for a more upright position, and the RSL carbon seatpost filters out road vibration.
| Model | Frame | Motor | Drivetrain | Weight (size) |
| Domane+ ALR 5 | Alpha Series 300 alloy | TQ HPR60, 60 Nm | SRAM Apex XPLR 1x12 | 14.39 kg (ML) |
| Domane+ SL 6 AXS | OCLV 500 carbon | TQ HPR40, 40 Nm | SRAM Rival XPLR AXS 1x13 | 12.11 kg (ML) |
| Domane+ SL 7 AXS | OCLV 500 carbon | TQ HPR40, 40 Nm | SRAM Force XPLR AXS 1x13 | 11.47 kg (ML) |
| Domane+ SL 9 AXS | OCLV 500 carbon | TQ HPR40, 40 Nm | SRAM RED XPLR AXS 1x13 | 11.00 kg (ML) |
Our take: the SL 6 AXS weighs 12.11 kg in ML, 640 g more than the SL 7 AXS (11.47 kg), which moves up to Aeolus Pro 37 carbon wheels and a Force groupset. Against the aluminium Domane+ ALR 5 (14.39 kg), it keeps an advantage of more than 2 kg.

LVR sizing advice The Domane+ SL comes in XS to XL. Trek puts the ML between 173 and 179 cm and the L between 179 and 188 cm; handlebar width (36 to 42 cm) and stem length (80 to 120 mm) change with the size. If you are between two sizes, a measurement in store will settle it.
