For those who live in the countryside, in the villages of the Béziers hinterland, and do their journeys and shopping by bike on hilly roads. It's aimed at riders of 165 cm and up who prefer a traditional frame.
Belt drive, big battery and standard frame. This version of the Charter+ 4 Nexus 5 combines the 800 Wh PowerTube and the Gates CDX belt drive in a classic Alpha Platinum aluminium frame, from M to XL. The Nexus hub protects its 5 gears from dust and rain, and the battery slots in through the top of the down tube.

In short: the longest-range belt-drive Charter+ with a standard frame, quoted by Trek at 32.50 kg in size L. It's aimed at long daily commutes, when you want to charge less often and never grease a chain.
Between villages, the roads alternate gentle climbs and descents: the 75 Nm Bosch motor helps you up to 25 km/h, and the MT200 hydraulic brakes control the descents well. The big battery lets you do a round trip to the neighbouring village market and a ride the next day without recharging.
The rack integrated into the frame takes panniers and shopping crates, and the Pletscher Comp Flex 40 kickstand holds the loaded bike steady when stopped. The E6 Hard-Case Lite tyres, reinforced against punctures, cope well with verges that are sometimes strewn with debris.
| Model | Motor / battery | Drivetrain | Fork | Weight (size) |
| Charter+ 4 Nexus 5 belt 540 Wh | Bosch Performance Line 75 Nm / 540 Wh | Nexus 5 + belt | 63 mm coil | 31.60 kg (L) |
| Charter+ 4 Nexus 5 belt 800 Wh | Bosch Performance Line 75 Nm / 800 Wh | Nexus 5 + belt | 63 mm coil | 32.50 kg (L) |
| Charter+ 4 Nexus 5 belt 800 Wh Lowstep | Bosch Performance Line 75 Nm / 800 Wh | Nexus 5 + belt | 63 mm coil | 31.50 kg (M) |
| Charter+ 4 Trail 800 Wh | Bosch Performance Line 75 Nm / 800 Wh | Shimano CUES 9-speed | XCR32 80 mm | 30.70 kg (L) |
Our take: identical to the blue colour, this black is purely a matter of taste. The Nexus 5 800 Wh Lowstep (31.50 kg in M) offers the same mechanics with a low step-over and a size S.

LVR sizing advice This standard frame comes from M to XL. Between 170 and 173 cm, M and L overlap: the M gives a more compact, nimble position, the L more reach for riding long distances. We check your inside leg before confirming, then adjust the stem.
