For the mountain biker who prefers long loops in the wild to race circuits: stringing together climbs, ridges and descents over half a day, on a light bike that stays at ease in technical sections. This colourway is available in M, ML and L.
OCLV Mountain and IsoBow, the carbon Procaliber's double act. Trek builds this frame from its OCLV carbon, whose layers are heat-pressed to drive out air trapped between the fibres; the Mountain version prioritises resistance to rock strikes and crashes, and remains covered by Trek's lifetime warranty. The IsoBow design routes the seatstays over the seat tube to form an arch that flexes vertically: the rear of the hardtail filters vibration better, with no pivots or wearing parts.
| OCLV Mountain (Procaliber 9.x) | Alpha Platinum (Procaliber 6 / 8) | Alpha Silver (Marlin) | |
| Level | Trek's mountain bike carbon, lifetime frame warranty | High-end aluminium | Entry-level MTB aluminium |
| Construction | OCLV process, layup focused on impact resistance, IsoBow | Internal cables, threaded BSA, UDH | Simple, robust design |
| Reference bike (M) | Procaliber 9.6: 12.38 kg | Procaliber 8: 12.78 kg | Marlin 7: 14.15 kg |
| What it means | Lighter, rear end flexes over bumps | Heavier, no IsoBow | Versatile, noticeably heavier |
In short: the 9.6 is the most descent-oriented carbon Procaliber. Its Fox Factory 34 offers 130 mm, 10 more than the other models, with the GRIP2 cartridge and Kashima coating; with the SRAM Eagle 70 drivetrain, it weighs 12.38 kg in M.
The dual-compound, aramid-bead Sainte-Anne Pro XR tyres offer a good level of cornering grip, useful on the dusty trails of the Espinouse or the rock slabs of the Caroux. Set up tubeless on the Kovee Comp 25 rims, you can drop the pressure for more traction and comfort.
On a four-hour ride, IsoBow and the large volume of the 2.4-inch tyres work together to limit fatigue, and the 150 mm Line Dropper post in M, ML and L lowers the saddle on descents. It is a hardtail that makes you want to explore new trails rather than watch the clock.
| Model | Frame | Drivetrain | Fork | Weight (M) |
| Procaliber 9.5 (Fox Rhythm) | OCLV Mountain, IsoBow | Shimano Deore 1x12 | Fox Rhythm 34, 120 mm | 12.73 kg |
| Procaliber 9.6 | OCLV Mountain, IsoBow | SRAM Eagle 70 T-Type 1x12 | Fox Factory 34, 130 mm | 12.38 kg |
| Procaliber 9.7 (Rekon Race) | OCLV Mountain, IsoBow | Wireless SRAM GX AXS | SID 120 mm | 11.38 kg |
| Supercaliber SL 9.6 (full suspension) | OCLV Mountain | SRAM Eagle 70 T-Type 1x12 | 80 mm rear / 110 mm front | 12.93 kg |
Our take: for trail loops, this 9.6 offers more travel than the 9.5 and 9.7. If you want rear suspension, the Supercaliber SL 9.6 weighs 12.93 kg, 550 g more, with 80 mm at the rear.

LVR sizing advice If you are between two sizes, choose the smaller for a bike that is agile in switchbacks, the larger for stability on fast descents. The cranks go from 170 to 175 mm in L and XL, and the stem from 50 to 80 mm from S to XL.
