At 10.28 kg in size M, the Trek Supercaliber SLR 9.9 XX Flight Attendant Gen 2 is the lightest full-suspension bike in Trek's XC catalogue. An OCLV Mountain SLR frame, Kovee RSL carbon wheels, a SRAM XX SL AXS 10-52 drivetrain and Motive Ultimate brakes make up a machine designed for climbing. The Red Smoke/Drizzle colourway lays down an intense smoky red, speckled with fine lighter droplets like drizzle.

For the climber who judges a mountain bike first by how it goes uphill, whether in MTB hill climbs, on routes with lots of elevation gain or on long ascents up the tracks of the Montagne Noire. It will also appeal to the lightweight racer who wants a lively, precise bike without an ounce of excess weight.
OCLV carbon, Trek's signature. Since 1992, Trek has heat-pressed its fibre sheets to eliminate the air pockets that weaken a frame. The OCLV Mountain version is calibrated for off-road use: it has to withstand rock strikes and crashes, not just be stiff. On this flagship, it is the SLR version, the lightest in Trek's mountain bike catalogue, that forms the frame; it remains covered by Trek's lifetime warranty.
| OCLV Mountain SLR | OCLV Mountain SL | Alpha Platinum alloy (Procaliber 6 / 8) | |
| Level | Trek's most advanced mountain bike carbon | Standard MTB carbon, same geometry | Trek premium aluminium |
| Construction | OCLV process, layup refined to the maximum | OCLV process, slightly more material | Hydroforming, smoothed welds |
| Reference bike | Supercaliber SLR 9.8 and 9.9 | Supercaliber SL 9.6 and 9.7 | Procaliber 6 and 8 (hardtails) |
| What it means | Lighter frame, reserved for high-end builds | Same IsoStrut, slightly heavier frame | Heavier, no rear suspension |
In short: the 9.9 XX Flight Attendant does not change frame compared with the other SLRs; it brings together the very best Trek does around it: XX SL drivetrain, Motive Ultimate brakes, carbon wheels and electronic suspension. The result is the lightest Supercaliber in the range, 300 g under the 9.9 XTR Di2.
Every gram saved is felt above all when accelerating on climbs: Kovee RSL wheels, an XX SL chainset and an Aeolus RSL saddle with carbon rails lighten the moving masses. The 34-tooth chainring paired with the 52 at the rear leaves low enough gearing to get up the steepest ramps without breaking your cadence.
On climbs, Flight Attendant firms up the suspension as soon as you push hard on the pedals, then frees it over rocky sections to maintain traction. The 4-piston Motive Ultimate brakes provide reassuring power for fast descents, with a 180 mm rotor at the front.
| Model | Carbon | Drivetrain | Suspension | Weight (M) |
| Supercaliber SLR 9.8 X0 AXS | OCLV Mountain SLR | Wireless SRAM X0 AXS | SID Select+ / SIDLuxe | 11.38 kg |
| Supercaliber SLR 9.8 X0 Flight Attendant | OCLV Mountain SLR | SRAM X0 AXS + power meter | Flight Attendant | 11.28 kg |
| Supercaliber SLR 9.9 XTR Di2 | OCLV Mountain SLR | Shimano XTR Di2 | SID SL Ultimate / SIDLuxe | 10.58 kg |
| Supercaliber SLR 9.9 XX Flight Attendant | OCLV Mountain SLR | SRAM XX SL AXS | Flight Attendant | 10.28 kg |
Our take: 300 g lighter than the 9.9 XTR Di2 and 1.1 kg lighter than the 9.8 X0 AXS, this is the climber's choice. For anyone who prefers conventional suspension with manual lockout, the 9.9 XTR Di2 comes in at 10.58 kg.

LVR sizing advice If you are between two sizes, the smaller one makes the bike more agile in switchbacks and accelerations, the larger one more stable on long, fast descents. Cranks, stem length and dropper post travel follow the size.

| Enough braking for descending? | Yes, the 4-piston Motive Ultimate brakes and 180 mm front rotor are up to the job. |
| Lower gearing for the cols? | A smaller chainring can be fitted in the workshop if you climb a lot. |
| Is the speckle a sticker? | No, the drizzle effect is part of the frame's paintwork. |
| Which dropper post? | A Fox Transfer SL, 100 mm in S and M, 125 mm in ML and L, 150 mm in XL. |

The LVR Cycles verdict The climbers' Supercaliber, light and precise, turning every climb into a playground. The speckled smoky red gives it a strong character.
